Boo!!

As every blogger before me has said,
"sometimes life gets in the way and you need to take a step back"
end quote, ha.

In all honestly, i couldn't find the energy.
I couldn't think of anything i wanted to write,
i've not read any blogs since i last posted.
Rubbish me!

In all fairness though my life got a bit busy.
I took part in an all girl exhibition,
my friends came to Berlin to stay for a few days,
i had a very exciting business offer,
[more on that in a bit, squeee]
i've been making things for my etsy shop.
and breathe.

My wall for the exhibition.
One thing i realised about my work whilst hanging it was i make
a lot of text based drawings.
Which is in no way a bad thing,
but pretty overwhelming when all my pieces are together.

A little girl made me cry on the night,
[and every now and then since lets be honest!]
i was told that she loved my work bcos Jaqueline Wilson is her
favourite author and she loves the books.
Which excited me bcos i love her too.
Then i cried because this little girl made my life.

People were seeking me out to tell me they liked my stuff,
and i was in the room when people were walking in and commenting
about how they like it.
Best ever feeling.

If i ever doubt myself again i just have to think back to this night.
I was surrounded by beautiful people,
beautiful art,
and beautiful drunk friends.
It was my favourite night in a long time.

In June i discovered and mastered summer rolls.
YUM.

Ah our annual eurovision feast,
was a good one this year, the show and the food,
still laughing about the hosts getting Graham in the booth with confetti.
Frenemies <3

Got a new bbq,
it's amazing,
super easy to carry to the park,
super easy to light.

BBQ!
I seriously have the best intentions to go veggie again some time
but then i remember sausages
and i'm german, i fucking love sausages.
[that's what she said]

Ramones museum, been here a million times,
[over exaggeration]
and i fully recommend it.
[......if you like the ramones]

LOL.

Whenever i'm home i love sitting in my mums garden and listening to the bees buzz.
I wish people were more serious about saving them,
if they die, we die!
They're so important, and so cute!

Did me some drawing whilst waiting for my, once again, delayed plane.

Sorry i disappeared,
speak soon!

so these photos are from the first 2 weeks or so of april...

we were at the mall one day and found this beast,
we thought it looked like a giant hot cross bun so we bought it with fingers crossed
€3,50 >> wasn't a bad price either

on our way back down the street he'd jumped out and took himself for a walk

they're so obedient and utterly adore their owners,
they don't even look at other people!
*sobs*

pretend it's a scene from the walking dead
walkers ahead beware!!

mmm, nothing scary about this.
a kiwi scoop and a cherry

i can see this from our front window and the amount of people that stop to take a picture...
i should charge
you know,
for art.

HAAA
i got a new half circle cake tin and wanted to use it
there was too much batter though so the cake turned out round

Happy one monthiversary

morning all
i'm currently sat on my sofa
[which i've pulled out so it's a bed~lazy]
i'm in my pj's and my boyfriend is listening to some rubbish
[i think it's opeth *blows raspberry*]

i'm gearing myself up to go for a run.
it's hard!
last night, last minute might i add,
we decided to go to fauximages and listen to a few designers
speak about their work.
it was a good night,
pretty inspiring, but it was a late night.
so now i'm pooped.
and i don't want to run.

[i will run, it'll wake me up...plus i get to listen to eminem]

tonight i have the flat to myself for a couple of hours!
the grand plan is to catch up on some shows,
rupaul's drag race
faking it
awkward
once upon a time.

i seriously recommend awkward
it's an mtv show
about a girl in high school who like this guy,
sounds pretty generic right?
and i don't even know how to describe it,
apart from it's really funny and i love it so watch it lol.

i'm going back to england in a week,
which is super exciting
bcos my parents are away so i can just
C.H.I.L.L

i'm thinking about taking the camera but seriously though
all i'm going to be doing is gorging myself on UK crisps from m&s
and chasing my dog taking the same photo.
she just doesn't give me face.

i got around to making some sticker packs for my shop
they're really fun and super cute,
i'm SO happy with them!

speaking of which,
my shop has been open for an entire month!
i'm so proud of myself
[don't be a hater]
that i'm offering FREE SHIPPING for an entire week.

wahoooooooooooooo!

Lunching in Berlin // Cafe Niesen

The other week my boyfriend and i decided to head out for a coffee and maybe some lunch,
if we saw anything we fancied...

We are home bodies,
[you could also suggest we are a little lazy]
and very much prefer staying in and around the area we live.

Luckily for us, we have a range of cafes close by,
and luckily for us, two are a minute's walk away!

We strolled around the corner [literally]
to Cafe Niesen, which means sneeze in German, cuuuute!

Located right on the corner of Korsörer Straße,
[where we lived for a few months fact fans]
and Schwedter Straße,
with a view of the TV tower and a few minutes walk from Mauerpark,
this corner cafe is always packed on a sunny day.

Very popular with locals,
and anyone wandering past.

You know somewhere is good when every table is full!

The interior is gorgeous.
They have boardgames on a shelf,
magazines and newspapers.
The perfect location to make yourself comfortable for a few hours.

This cafe is a 'self serve' place.
Which, in Berlin, just means you decide what you want and order from the counter,
rather than waiting to get served at the table.

Your drinks and food are brought to you,
and you can pay either before you eat or when you're ready to leave.

We opted for chai lattes and they came with a real chai blend in a bag,
i left it to brew for a while,
i loooove me a good chai latte
and i've never had one come with the spices before,
so it was a luxurious treat!

As we were only out for a light lunch we opted for a slice of quiche each,
one vegetarian without salad,
and one meaty with.

Both quiches came fresh out of the oven,
toasty and warm.

The veggie quiche was olive and mushroom,
a combination i've never had before,
and my oh my was it delicious!

The meat had leeks and chunks of speck [chunky bacon]
and was equally as tasty.

There was just one guy in the kitchen,
making everything fresh and on the day which is pretty standard here.

They had a case FULL of home made cakes,
about five varieties,
and lots of other options for lunch at extremely good prices.

They even have a 'house drink',
Niesonade,
which is fresh lemon and elderflower syrup,
sounds good!!

As my Kiez [neighbourhood] is quite suburban
and a popular area for families,
there are always kids outside the cafe,
making their own entertainment while they wait for their parents
to finish their lattes.
[and NOT on smart phones or ipads]

We're often greeted with cute street art such as this!!
Adorable!

If you fancy a day out,
i whole heartedly recommend you make your way down to Cafe Niesen,
stop for a bit of lunch and a refreshing drink,
then walk on through to Mauerpark.

It's especially beautiful in the autumn,
the leaves are falling and are especially golden this year!

>.<
