Day tripping || Potsdam

This awesome toilet was decorated with pages from manga comics.
I stayed in there for an age...
way too long.

Heading into my favourite area of Potsdam,
the Dutch quarter.

Dammit Marie, they're MINERALS!

When we get visitors we tend to go out and explore a lot more than usual.
This year we ended up travelling just outside Berlin,
to a little place called Potsdam.

It's seeped in history, to quote my dad,
"it got the shit bombed out of it during the war".
Eloquent as always.
Which war he is talking about, i'm not sure.

It took about 50 minutes to get there on a train.
We had lovely weather and every intention to get the water taxi around the city,
BUT,
someone was too cold and needed to buy a jumper,
so we missed to first taxi,
then spent the rest of the day chasing another one.
[my feet!]

My favourite area was the old Amsterdam quarter.
The houses were beautiful,
i've still not been to Amsterdam, but i want to go even more now!
I would have loved to sit outside a cafe and had a cherry beer,
watch the afternoon slowly go by.

There is even a Brandenburg gate here,
which was bizarre!

One of the main places it is recommended to visit here is
Sansoucci Park.
It was beautiful,
but that's another story for another day!

My Roaring 20's

Welcome, welcome,
one and all!

Today i'm going to treat you to a few snapshots of some of my
favourite places around my house.

Yes the turtle next to my bed is a night light.
Yes i sleep with teddies still.
Yes i use an old man's shopping trolley to actually put my shopping in.
[how else am i to get 8 litre bottles of water home?!]
Yes i have lace curtains,
and i LOVE them,
Yes there are dinosaurs dotted around.
Yes....
that is indeed a whole shelf of hot sauces.
And finally,
yes, i have a milk jug in the shape of a cow.

Haters gon' hate!

Treptower Park - Berlin secrets...

There's a place in Berlin that tourists aren't really aware of.
If you jump on the S41/S42 ring to Treptower Park you come across a place of beauty.
You could spend a whole day here.
There's a Russian memorial.
An abandoned theme park.
[Spreepark]
A harbour.
Boat houses.
Ice cream.
A bike trail.
It's a beautiful day out.

I 100% recommend this if you ever visit.

I went recently with my parents.
It was really hot so we didn't spend too long here.
[i have sensitive skin, boo]
We missed out the island and the theme park.
But it's so easy to get to i'm going to jump on the train next week when it cools down.
Need to take more pictures!

I must warn you.....
i am learning how to use my NikonD80.
I am also learning how to edit.
There are a lot,
A LOT,
of photos in this post.

Enjoy!
