Party at the Palmyra // Warrington

Hello, hello, hello!
[i've been watching too much rupaul]
Ive been trying to write a catch up post on my ipad bcos i have a shit ton of photos on there
but blogger is being an asshole and i can't figure it out.

While i'm working on it though here's a draft from last year,
october i think,
when i went home for a friends wedding.
This was one of those lazy warm nights,
surrounded by friends and family.

My sister's fiancee,
[i wish there were a better word for that, it's annoying to say]
is in a band, Old Tow Quartet,
kind of country,
but i'm shit with music genres, if it's good, it's good.

They've recently recorded an album,
[my other half is designing the artwork for it]
and it sounds, and is looking, pretty good.
If you're curious check them out
^-^

Back to the photos....

Despite Warrington being a bit of a hole in places,
[ooh controversial]
the buildings in town are stunning.

When you feel like crap and this is the best OOTD photo you can stomach.
Side note...
i love these boots!
They are my life i swear.
I found them in a vintage shop when i was about 17 and picked them up for £20.
Proper oxblood worn in docs.
Heaven.
I told my mum i'm going to get married in them
[she hates them, they're too 'clumpy' lol]
then i was like actually....
*cue happy relieved face from motherhen*
i need to find a pair in white anyway, i'll wear them.

We had some cute German friends and family staying,
hence the family outing.

Motherhen!

I love floors.
Seriously, lookit how pretty.

My father, ladies and gentlemen.
He is the ultimate poser and only last year i realised that it's from him
my sister gets her extrovert and posey ways!

Me being a creeper from outside.
The bar is way too small for actual gigs,
i stayed outside like a good wallflower.

Anyway,
sorry it's not a recent catch up.
Hope you enjoyed it regardless?!

If you're interested in the band their facebook is
I'm pretty sure there's more songs online.

Right....lets get this stupid blogger app sorted!

Leaving the UK...

Quick...somebody call a waaahmbulance!
It's a little over two and a half weeks since i left the UK.
Hey, i've been busy!
Judgey.

My main reason for going over was due to having had a lot of sinus trouble recently.
I wanted to get checked out,
make sure everything was ok,
plus...
i needed my mum.

Along with the sinusitis my anxiety ramped up.
I think i made myself a lot more sick than i actually was.
I sank deeper and deeper into my depression.
I hated Berlin,
I mainly hated myself,
I hated my lack of motivation and creation.
I was in a really dark place.

Luckily,
[after a long, tearful chat]
i have woken up.
I am feeling less pressure,
I don't hate myself quite so much,
and I feel a bit more confident.

Now....
lets get you up to date with my last few days in the UK!

A friend let me borrow some of his Palahniuk books...
i have a lot of reading to do.

Pick & mix and pizza friday are staples in my diet when i'm home.
Naughty.

I mean really...
look at her cute face all ready for some DIY.

My grandad gave me some of his old belt buckles.
He isn't the kind of grandad who readily gives things away to family,
he's quite sentimental and worries things won't get looked after.
So i nearly cried when i opened his package.
He is in his 70's and bought his first one when he was 20.

Bargain of the trip.
All three books for £1.
ONE POUND.
Read these books if you're into magic and sci fi please.

I made my first quiche and it killed.
[not literally...that would be somewhat disturbing]
My mum also made an apple cake and i forgot to have a slice!
This was on my last day :(

Going away buffay!
[i know it's buffet.]

My father, ladies and gentlemen.
You'll be seeing a lot more of him in posts to come...

On the train home from the airport.
After taking this photo i had to change into pants and a tshirt...
*whispers*
chub rub.

We went to Mauerpark the day after i got back and i got a treat...
[fake] gold cutlery like Nigella has...
cos we're fancy.

Signed up to Netfilx,
[BEST THING EVER]
got stuck into ren and stimpy,
realised ren was a dog and stimpy was a cat
[wtf.]
and then got started on breaking bad.
OMG BREAKING BAD.

NOM.

Visiting the pet shop

So i discovered a little secret the other day...
Warrington market has a pet shop!
Calm your boots though, there were no dogs or cats.
Just parrots, birds, and reptiles.

Also...on the way out i noticed live grasshoppers and worms.
*shudder*
So gross.

The guys in the shop just gave me face, face face.
Then my camera died.
Wah!

The african grey was my favourite.
My granddad used to have one.
Ringo.
He'd sing the Cops theme tune, and 'How much is that doggy'.
Parrots, so weird.
How do they talk and remember?!
Don't think about it too much, you'll lose a day.

Warrington town

Up until i was 8 years old i lived in Germany.
You got me, i'm an army brat.
In 1994 my dad was posted to the UK.
We ended up in Warrington.

Smack bang in the middle of Manchester and Liverpool.

I'm not complaining about Warrington.
I met so many good people there.
I met my boyfriend of 10 years there.
It's just...a bit blah.

I think everyone thinks this about where they grew up though.
Kind of a rite of passage of sorts.
'If you can survive this place, you can survive anything'.

Well now i don't live here, i kind of love it,
and i miss it so very much!

I love going back.
There are some really nice places near by for day trips.
It's so familiar.

I love Warrington.
[......in small bite sized one week every three months chunks]
It's pretty charming.
The people are interesting to watch.
And it feels like home.

I'm here now actually.
Having a bit of an m.o.t after a nasty sinus and ear infection.
It was a trek getting here this time.
If you follow me on twitter you'll have seen my anger on wednesday evening.
Drama!
Will be explaining everything soon...
>.<
