What's in my make up bag...

Hello!

So i don't know if it's because i live in Berlin where au naturel is the norm; or because i'm so paranoid about my skin breaking out, but generally, most days, i don't wear make up. Or brush my hair...but that's another story.

However when i'm reading blogs some of my favourite posts are about what people own, what make up they use, their skin care routine etc. So i've decided to treat you to a little peek inside my every day make up bag, and my stored make up.

We start with my little bag. I love anything to do with space, especially the moon, so when i saw this i couldn't resist. It was my birthday treat to myself. We all love those right?

I don't usually wear a lot of make up, but if i'm having a break out or going somewhere nice i like to start with this Catrice primer. I find it so much better than the Benefit Porefessional. It calms down any redness i'm having and also really smoothes my skin. I have pretty deep pores so it is awesome.

The p2 brightener is just an under eye cream that feels really refreshing and smells kind of cucumbery; if that can even be classed as a word?? It really perks up my eyes and wakes me up.

Benetint is an old love of mine, i haven't had this for years and i don't wear make up enough to justify buying the full sized product, so the pocketpal is ideal. I use this mainly as a blush, haven't even touched the lip gloss!

The concealer is perfect for my skin tone. I have really pale skin, but with a pinky tone, and usually most concealers i see have that yellow undertone. It just doesn't work for me. I used to use a Loreal true match in a rose pink colour, but i've not seen that colour for years. Sad face. I have since found this p2 concealer and for less than €2 it's a definite re-buy.

I couldn't tell you what brushes they are, probably the cheapest ones i could find. They're pretty old. I could do with some new ones actually. Any recommendations? I'm thinking Mac...

The eyeshadows are a recent find. The packaging reminds me of Shu Umera no? I think they were 2 or 3 euros each, and are really pigmented and have the slightest shimmer. Usually i don't wear eyeshadow, but every now and then i fancy a bit of sparkle.

Tweezers. I've used this brand for as long as i can remember. Wilkinson Sword. Isn't it funny how some tweezers just don't work the same for one person as another.
If i misplace these, which, let's be honest, has happened on more than one occasion, i go absolutely mental. I get clammy hands, my heart races, i go into full on panic mode.....then i find them at the bottom of my make up bag.
Standard.

I'm one of those weirdos who hates lipstick. Gah i know, i'm a terrible person! I just really don't like the feel of it on my lips. I stress out about licking my lips too much, and not licking them enough and then getting those unsightly white lines on my mouth *shudders*.

I picked this up on a whim during a Berlin winter and i love it. It's my lip colour, but better. It doesn't feel like i'm wearing anything, but it feels kind of fresh and tingly at the same time [whut? how?!], and it adds a tiny pop of colour that really brightens my face.

Here i am wearing just the blistex lip tone. You can see what i mean about my skin now! Seriously though, spots, or spot scarring are nothing to be ashamed of and they in no way make you any less of a person.
Embrace your face!!

My moisturiser. I have problem skin and this is the only thing i've been able to put on my face without feeling like there is something on my face...don't be crude...i love this stuff.
I only use it occasionally, i have oily/combination skin, so i use it maybe 2 or 3 times a week.

My storage make up bag...

I very rarely wear nail varnish. These are a few i found in the bag. The one on the left is a gorgeous coral colour when applied and makes my skin look more tanned, so i can see me wearing this a bit more this summer.

My stand by blushes. The Topshop one is cream, and the Mac is a powder. Both are a flushed, light pink colour. Just to add that little, not so obvious colour.

Powder, and various concealer type products. The Mac is NC15, i'm not too sure about it though. Thinking about getting rid. It's a bit to yellowy for my skin, and it's quite drying.

The Lemon aid is for the days i don't feel like eye shadow, it just takes that redness away.
I picked up the Nip & Fab over christmas from TK Maxx for super cheap, like £2 or something, but i don't think my skin likes it. After using it for about 4 or 5 days i got these strange, small, lumps under my eyes. I stopped using it and they're still slowly going down. Bizarre.

The BadGal has been a staple for years. Most especially when i had my full on Brody Dalle punk style phase. I'm still a punk at heart, just less eye liner!

A couple of lipsticks i tried this year. Still not convinced.
The BarryM is something i use on special occasions, to feel that little bit, you know, special!

My two favourite mascaras.
These should all actually be in my every day make up bag, as i rotate the mascaras, depending on what i'm going for.

I inherited my Granddad's owl eyebrows, so i need lots of taming.
I bought the Mac brow mascara recently after reading Lily's review of it and i have to say, i'm not sure it's that amazing. Maybe it's my eyebrows though, they're crazy annoying to control.

Finally, my stand by eye shadows.
The palette of from M&S and was an emergency buy. I forgot my make up one trip home and couldn't go to Boots because it burnt down in a fire, i don't like Asda make up, and it was a Sunday.
I really like it though, i'd recommend checking their make up out.

The matte single is by Mac, 'Quarry'. I love it, i love matte eye shadows.

The Catrice one i wore a lot over xmas before i got Lemon Aid. I mainly wore it very lightly to take any redness away from my lids.

So there you have it. Hope you enjoyed, and hope it wasn't too long!

I need to go now and sort out my roasted veg and rice tea, yum!

A catch up of epic proportions.

Hi! I told you i'd have a new post up...you didn't doubt me did you?

I must warn you though, this is a photo heavy post. Like super heavy. Like 15 months or so worth of catching up.
If you like pictures, you're in for a treat.
If not...well, i recommend you don't read this post!
As i've been AWOL for quite some time, i've decided to post a few photos for each month that i've been away to give you an idea of what's going on, then i'll expand on certain things in future posts.

Sound good? Cool. So, grab a [big] cup of tea and get comfy!

January 2012

Some prints i made with my gocco printer.

Gig with my sister, lego hair!

February 2012

I got some crimpers as a late christmas present. The boyfriend did not like this....said i look like Stevie Wonder....looking back now i can kind of see where he's coming from.

As well as crimpers i got a badass new mixer. This was my first loaf. Chuffed.

March 2012

I had a birthday. I burnt my cake so shaved the crispy bits and hid it under the cream. I also kind of had a street fighter party. Where a group of us played street fighter. For hours.

Oh and my sister came to visit!

Here she is on the left.

April 2012

Birthday present from the boyfriend was a tattoo. I had to wait for 3 weeks or something.

Totally worth it.

At the end of April we moved into our very own flat! We thought it would be a good idea to go to Ikea on the hottest day of the year, and furnish our entire apartment. It was not a good idea.
So hot.

Our new street!

May 2012

Most of May involved moving in.

I have a whole post dedicated to old flats and the new flat.
EXCITING!

June 2012

In June i got a bike!

And i also tried fish tacos for the first time.
Delish.

July 2012

We went back to the UK and had a garden party with our nearest and dearest.

We also visited Jodrell Bank, Conwy, and went to the punk festival Rebellion.

August 2012

In August we started healthy eating and exercising lots. We kicked this off with a massive trek through Treptower Park. If you're ever in Berlin in summer, definitely visit.

September 2012

This is joghurt! Not ice cream! My parents visited in September. My dad actually surprised me by meeting us at a random coffee shop.
Best day!

October 2012

The boyfriend's parents came and we made a buttload of mini burgers.
Super tasty, i only had 1! Still losing weight!

November 2012

More visitors! This time my sister and her boyfriend. They all had greasy burgers and i stayed with my rice cake! 8 kilos down thank you very much :)

December 2012

It snowed.

We went home and my dog stole my Eeyore teddy. She always does this.
Takes the ted then runs away.
Doesn't even say hello.
Bitch.

We were treated to delicious food!

And i made myself a xmas jumper because i couldn't afford to buy one.
I also got some sexy snow boots that were quite the topic of conversation.

My sister got engaged, again! Not to a different guy or anything.
Same guy, new ring.
So happy for them!
She's a fancypants Queenie.

We spent our New Year in a bungalow in Abersoch, with my sister and fiancee for company.
It was my favourite New Year ever.
At half 11 we took champagne and kindling to the beach and made a fire.
At midnight we watched fireworks and i cried because i had never been happier.

January 2013

New bike helmet for safety on the snowy streets of Berlin.
I got a new camera for xmas btw.
You'll see an improvement in photos....hopefully!

February 2013

Sweet potato burgers. Yum!

I also started drawing again.
Came up with some ideas.
I realise this picture looks really odd, but it's just a portion of a page.
It makes sense i promise!

March 2013

Happy Birthday Me!!!
I turned 27.
Then i freaked out.
I also got a new bike from the boyfriend.

And there you have it! Hopefully you're still around, if you read through that, i thank you, you're awesome and i love you!

Mega apologies for being rubbish and not posting for a while.
I kind of lost myself. Plus the middle of last year got super busy.
We're back on track now though and i'm going to treat you to lots of new posts!

Hope everyone's had a good year so far :)

Making a come back

I decided two seconds ago to return to blogging.

Will prepare and post over the next couple of days...

Excited! x

Sunday, 5 February 2012

last one for tonight!

So, um, i got a tumblr.

http://wintercosmos.tumblr.com/

It's super fun, trawling the internet for images.

Slightly addictive actually >.<

pops

So one of the main things i miss about the UK when i'm in Berlin is my dog. Seriously.
This little creature!

I didn't tell her to get in the shower, she just went and sat in it one day. Maybe she realised it was xmas and wanted to look her best.

Aha, she spotted me.

So cute!
We genuinely spend all of our days together.
I don't have a job in the UK, or in Berlin lol, but that's another story for another time, so me and the pops just hang out in the day eating and watching tv.
It's not a good look.

Now i am back in Berlin and i have no dog, i keep looking for her to share my food with but she's not there!!
The worst thing is i can't ring her up and be like,
"yo, 'sup poppy, i'm gonna be away for a while so don't think i've abandoned you or anything"
and she'd be like,
"awesome, cool, well have fun bitch"

I miss my dog!!!

Time for a XMAS catch up schweedie

Merry Christmas!
Ha, it's a wee bit late, i know, but i am finally able to post my xmas and new years photos.
I got back home mid December to find my lovely papa had decorated my room all xmassy. And no, i don't usually refer to my dad as 'papa', but it felt like a papa moment.

I got busy straight away making my standard xmas gift fare, rocky road and snickers bars. Wrapped them all up nice and tidy and put my brand new gold glitter ribbon (OMFGZZ) to use.
Is there anything better than glittery ribbon?
I think not. Especially at xmas time.

Xmas eve buffet at my boyfriends parents. She went all out this year and made us loads of food. I was too obsessed with the asda's own cheese balls to bother with the chili cheese pinwheels though, ha. Cheese balls mmm.
It was a bit of a bummer this year, my sister went missing. Yep, actually went missing for the day. She kind of ruined it for everyone a little. Don't get me wrong, i love my sister, but sometimes she is a little more than unreliable. I ended up crying all of xmas eve because i couldn't figure out where she was. Eventually had to get in touch with her kind of boyfriend and ask him if he knew, he did, and he reassured me she was ok. Then at about 2a.m he rang me and said he'd found her and taken her back to his house and he'd make sure she was up in the morning for xmas day with us.
Neither of us have told her about this.
It's our secret yeh?!

Ha, imagine if she read this blog. Oh dear.

Xmas day! Yessss! After retrieving my sister we finally got down to the important stuff, the presents!
Ha, i kid!
 A little bit.
But really.
You know what i'm saying is right.
>.<

I was very happy to unwrap a kindle, it is amazing. Especially with me going from Berlin to the UK every few months it is a god send! 12 books on one little tablet?!
Thank you amazon.
The above is the box of goodies the boyfriend got me. No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom (best album ever) on vinyl and a gocco machine included :)

My mum thought getting me this hat would be hilar.
I thought it was amazing, so snuggly i can't cope.

Considering making myself a little felt crown a la 'where the wild things are'.

One of my favourite things received is this dog bag.
I know the cat tapestry's and Lita's are rocking the web at the minute but really, who the fuck likes cats over dogs?!

And finally, the piece de resistance, cos i'm feeling a bit french, xmas dinner!
Nom.

Laters xx
